Simple in concept. Easy to Use. Plug & Play.

IO-GATE is powerful, capable, and packed with interfaces you need to bring your IIoT project to the next level. Boost your productivity further with the onboard edge services and no matter where you are, IO-GATE will provide you with your sensor data and perform the tasks you want to action with edge services.

Industrial housing for the most rugged environments

The IO-GATE provides protection against high pressure water jets and is of course protected from total dust ingress.

Multi-sensor Interfaces

4 IO-Link ports, Ethernet for IO-Link master or IP cameras and 4 digital I/O.

High Speed Wireless Internet

LTE/4G and optional 5G available e.g. for video streaming.

Camera Integration

Plug your IP camera and start taking pictures or videos.

EdgeManager

The IO-GATE comes with a device management solution which enables the user to keep track of everything needed to operate the IO-GATE at full scale in the field. It also allows users to download apps to run their own applications.

Use Cases

Avoid flooding and catastrophic events

With a customer in France, we are using the IO-GATE to monitor the water level in a dam using IO-Link sensors and an IP camera. By installing the camera overlooking the dam and clearly capturing the water level and surrounding area, the camera is connected to the IO-GATE using the Ethernet interface.

We created a customized docker container app to meet the customer's needs. The IO-GATE transmits the data captured by the camera to a cloud platform for further analysis.

By installing water level sensors, we monitor the water level data in real-time and display it on a dashboard. By using a IP camera and the IO-GATE with a water level sensor, it is possible to monitor the water level in a dam in real-time and take appropriate measures in case of emergency situations such as flooding or draught alarms.

The IO-GATE's, cameras and sensors are all managed in our Edge manager.

Reduce downtime in the mining industry

The IO-LINK sensor data monitoring system for a crusher alerts the operators when there is an issue like high vibration, temperature increase or overload. The IO-GATE analyzes the data at the edge and triggers alerts if the sensor readings go beyond the set thresholds. The alerts can notify operators to take corrective actions and prevent unplanned downtime. We have taken advantage of IO-GATE GNSS capabilities to offer Asset tracking to all machines on different sites to track the location and status of mining equipment and other assets, both above and below ground. With our dashboard customization services we offer a white label app and web platform that is totally customized for customer needs.

Find materials for recyling and avoid earth contamination

With a new smart waste management system in Austria, a customer is using an industrial IP camera connected to IO-GATE's to monitor and analyze garbage collected in trucks using advanced AI tools. Identifying recycling materials and plastics. The IO-GATE enables fast 4G and 5G connectivity while moving to send real-time photos and videos to the cloud for analysis with time stamps. Using geolocation info, the IO-GATE identifies the exact location of all photos sent to the cloud.

The IO-GATE receives and pushes data between the cloud and the camera to remotely change configurations and it updates software over the air. It uses the digital outputs to alert the driver of important notifications if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need an industrial IoT Gateway?

An IIoT gateway is a device that acts as a bridge between sensors and the cloud. It collects data from multiple sensors and devices and sends it to the cloud for analysis. The IO-GATE serves as an IoT gateway with additional features, such as edge services, to help boost productivity.

In industrial IoT projects, an IoT gateway like the IO-GATE is important because it can handle the large amounts of data generated by sensors and devices, and it can provide edge computing capabilities to process and analyze data closer to the source.

With 5G it leads to faster response times, reduced latency, and more efficient use of network bandwidth. Additionally, the IO-GATE's rugged design makes it suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.

What is IO-LINK?

IO-Link is a point-to-point serial communication protocol used to communicate with sensors and actuators in industrial automation applications. It provides a standardized, bidirectional interface that allows for the exchange of process data, parameter data, and diagnostic information between sensors and the control system. IO-Link is designed to be simple, low-cost, and easy to integrate with existing industrial networks, making it an ideal choice for applications that require real-time communication and precise control. IO-Link is particularly useful for smart factories and Industry 4.0 applications, where the ability to quickly and easily connect and exchange data between sensors and actuators is critical.
